Netballpost.com has found that netball courts in London vary greatly in terms of quality and cost. We have reviewed a number of the central London courts for you. Whilst we know of these sites through playing on them we have no control over their availability or state of repair.

Golden Lane Leisure Centre Netball Courts

Cost: £31 per hour or £20.50 per half hour Review: This is the only public leisure centre in the City of London. It offers clean changing facilities ajoining an indoor swimming pool. The two full size outside courts. are overlooked by the flats of the Golden Lane Estate and as a result residents encourage quiet games – with the exception of the umpires’ whistles.
The courts are not floodlit the courts are not booked out after dark.

Sobell Leisure Centre

Address: Sobell Leisure Centre, Hornsey Road, London N7 7NY

Nearest Train/Tube: Finsbury Park or Holloway Road are 10 minutes away.

Cost: £59 or £54 an hour.
Review: The Sobell Leisure has full size indoor netball courts. It is very popular for badminton and basketball both sports block book far in advance. It’s easy to get a court 3pm-4pm on week days.

John Orwell Sports Centre

Review: One outdoor floodlit court. Non members can book three days in advance but must pay when booking. Membership is free and also means that the court can be booked six days in advance and payment can be made on arrival.
Players can use the changing and toilet facilities.

St Botolph’s Netball Court

Cost: £40 per hour (make sure you have a couple of £1 coins for the floodlights)

Review : Recently resurfaced and flood lit this outside court is centrally located just two minutes away from Liverpool Street train and tube stations. It is ideal for lunchtime, after work matches or practice sessions. Casual bookings can be made three weeks in advance. Money needs to be paid up front by cash or cheque to the Vicar.
There small hut next to the court that players can change in. It is a bit chilly in the winter so it’s worth advising your players to come ready dressed to play. There are no toilet facilities, however, there is a pub next door.
The court is very popular with City based netball teams throughout the year. Due to the high demand for both tennis and netball this may be one of the most expensive outside courts in the country. It can be a struggle to book the court for one off sessions and to block book. It’s worth booking as far in advance as possible.

Lincoln ‘s Inn Fields Netball Courts

Cost: £19.40 per hour  Review: Outdoor courts based in Holborn’s Lincolns Inn Fields with a park attendant. It’s certainly a picturesque setting, however, the toilets where you might change are in the north east corner of the square outside of the park. As an historic public park, spectators may take residency on the nearby benches. A lively and popular venue for tournaments.
Bookings are taken up to a week in advance but payment must be confirmed within 24 hours. They can be made by telephone or in person at the park attendant’s hut in the centre of the fields. There is no floodlighting.
