Hope someone can help me. I am no big expert in netball but try my best to coach a group of P6 & 7's. I remember there being a rule about not being able to try shooting a second time if your first shot has not hit the post at all. The way I understood it was that it had to be passed to another player before you were allowed to try the shot again. However after a friendly match with a local school, I was told that this was not the case and in actual fact the rule is that if a player takes a shot and misses the post then they are not even allowed to catch it. If they do then it's a penalty awarded to the other team. Can anyone please clarify this? I am desperate as I am hosting a school tournament next month and really need to know this rule to get my own team up to scratch. (poor things didn't have a clue that night at the friendly - just as well they won anyway! Very Happy )

Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
